The Department of Physiotherapy in Sindh Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is distinguished from other physical therapy departments in its scope of practices and outstanding educational standards in academics. Academic programs of physiotherapy empower the students not only in strong theoretical concepts, but also the application of advanced practical and hands-on skills in all physiotherapy domains. The programs currently running at SIPM&R include Doctor of Physical Therapy and Masters in Advanced Physiotherapy.

The well-established Physiotherapy department is managed by a team of foreign qualified, highly skilled and experienced physiotherapists rendering their services in musculoskeletal, neurological, pediatrics, geriatrics, women health and sports physiotherapy. Furthermore, the faculty is highly involved in research that integrates evidence based clinical practice.

The department caters to rehabilitation needs of out-patients as well as in-patients in collaboration with Civil Hospital. The department also serves as an educational training platform for physiotherapists from other physiotherapy colleges. Along with other Institute activities, the department also actively conducts and participates in medical and health promotional camps all over Karachi.

A career in physiotherapy can lead to a variety of interesting and challenging jobs in the health care system. Physiotherapists may pursue specializations in different areas that demonstrate a high level of skill, knowledge and competence. This results in many opportunities for growth, such as working in clinical / teaching positions, as a researcher, or as an entrepreneur by opening their own physiotherapy services.
