INTRODUCTION

Department of Autism Services was inaugurated on 1st March 2013 as the first of its kind in a teaching hospital in Pakistan. The goal was to provide rehabilitation to children with Autism. The Autism program followed takes learnings from TEACCH and ABA, and adapts those learnings to cater to the needs of the Autism children of Pakistan. The program provides all-encompassing services including Behavior, ADL, Academic and Skill Training. The Department of Autism Services has continued to be a pioneer in its field establishing the first Autism School which was inaugurated by the Chief Minister, Sindh in 2017.
